Church should be THE place where it is OK to say, “I’m not OK.” Tragically, it often is not. Part of the way God has made us, is with a deep desire to belong, to find safety, to know that we matter. We all need an environment where we can know, “I am welcome here.” And of all places, the Church should be that! I believe that we personally get to know the unconditional love and acceptance of God the Father and Christ His Son, we can extend that same love and acceptance to one another. We together, can create a community that is different.
The greatest teacher in all of history offered a couple mission statements for this life. On one instance, Jesus told his followers, “I have come so that you may have life and have it in abundance.” On another, he explained, “I did not come to be served, but to serve and give my life as a ransom for many.” Hard to believe! Jesus in his radiance accepts us as we are. He serves us. He gives His life for us. And then He invites us to grow into abundance from there. As you enter Kearney eFree, we hope you find a welcoming, safe community, a place to grow, a place to worship, a place to belong.
