Join The Mission In Our Community

We are a church committed to our community with good works and the Good News. Our engagement opportunities include local area partnerships, our Storehouse ministry, and being on mission in our everyday lives.

Partners

Kids Hope

KidsHope places trained mentors in the schools one hour, once a week, for one year. Each mentor has the unique opportunity to build life-changing relationships through committing to love and support the student they are matched with.

Storehouse

What is Storehouse?

Storehouse is eFree’s in-house ministry serving people in our church family and in our community who have hit a rough patch financially. We offer resources such as a fully stocked pantry, small household items, toiletries, a shower, and more.
We also offer financial assistance while paired with a Care Team member who will walk with each participant long term as they work toward being able to support themselves and their families again, and to share with others the fruit of their labor. We offer groups and individualized care for both women and men.

HelpCare Clinic

Kearney’s volunteer-run HelpCare Clinic serves Buffalo and Kearney counties’ patients who do not have insurance. We have partnered with HelpCare since its inception and support HelpCare by serving throughout their open hours and with other needs they might have. HelpCare’s priority needs include doctors, nurses, translators, and receptionists.

eFree Transit

We know that our community’s lack of transportation can be an obstacle for those without access to a vehicle. eFree Transit seeks to eliminate this obstacle for Kearney’s homeless shelter residents by giving rides to a church service and back each Sunday. We are committed to giving people who are homeless an opportunity to worship with their church family Sunday mornings!

Adoption Grants

Kearney eFree holds an adoption grant fund for couples in our church and our community. If you are looking for a way to give financially, we invite you to join us in supporting adoption through this grant. Our team not only gifts grants to help toward the astronomical costs associated with adoptions, but we also provide a support system and way to connect them with other couples and families who have had a similar journey. Thank you for helping us respond in this way to God’s call to place orphans into a family.

International Friendship Program

Our church family has a long history of involvement with UNK's International Friendship Program (IFP) and has been faithful to welcome and love the international students living in our community for college. After being on pause for a time, the program is re-launching this year, and we are so excited to partner with them to recruit individuals and families who would open their hearts and lives to these brave young people who are so far from home.
This year, there are over 100 students who have requested to be matched through the IFP, and our desire is to see every single one of them matched with an individual or family who will show them the transformational love of God. These friendships often turn into long-lasting relationships that are deeply enriching for all involved.

You might be wondering what this looks like, practically-speaking. The commitment is simple - invite your student into your home and life about 1-2 times per month. This can look a variety of different ways, but some fun ideas could include cooking traditional dinners for one another, celebrating birthdays and holidays together, having game night, etc. Just be yourself and invite your student into the experience of American life, while expanding your own perspectives by learning more about their culture.

We are excited to share that we are partnering with IFP on this re-launch by facilitating a simple training to equip those who sign up as Friends. This will coincide with an ice cream social for Friends to meet their students and get their friendships kicked off with tons of fun and support!
This is such a practical, tangible way to show the love of Christ and to make a global impact right from your own home! If God is leading you to join us in this mission, click below!
